General Information
If you are a customer of the NJ E-ZPass program, there are several discounts that will reduce the cost of the tolls you pay on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. Customers who have their E-ZPass accounts through other states do not qualify for the New Jersey discounts.
For most of the discounts, no action is necessary to take advantage as long as you have your E-ZPass account through the NJ E-ZPass Customer Service Center. For others, you must apply and provide proof of your eligibility in order to receive the discount.
Helpful Tip: A key to saving money with E-ZPass on the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and other toll roads, bridges, and tunnels is making sure you keep an active tag properly mounted in your car or truck.
Passenger vehicles pay a lower NJ E-ZPass rate during off-peak periods on the New Jersey Turnpike. (Peak periods are 7 to 9 a.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. All other times are considered off peak.) Trucks and buses pay a lower NJ E-ZPass rate during peak and off-peak periods on the New Jersey Turnpike and during off-peak periods on the Garden State Parkway. Those discounts are reflected in the toll schedules.
Other discounts offered to eligible customers of the NJ E-ZPass program include:
Senior Citizen Discount (Tag Specific)
- The Senior Citizen Discount provides a 10 percent discount on the off-peak rate for drivers 65 and older on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway.
- Customers must enroll in the plan and provide proof of age.
- Business and commercial accounts are not eligible.
- The discount is tag-specific; it applies only to a specified tag within an account.
- Eligible senior must be in the car at the time the transaction occurs.

Green Pass Discount (Tag Specific)
- The Green Pass Discount provides a 10 percent discount on the off-peak rate on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway for drivers in vehicles rated at 45 miles per gallon or better and meeting the California Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) standard.
- Customers must enroll in the plan and provide proof of eligibility (copy of vehicle registration).

Truck Volume Discount
- The Truck Volume Discount provides 5 percent off on Turnpike and Parkway off-peak rates for business and commercial accounts with more than $10,000 in tolls for the month.
- The discount applies only to patrons in the NJ E-ZPass Post-Paid Program. If you are in the post-paid program and meet the volume discount criteria, the discount will be applied automatically. There is no need to apply.
- All off-peak trips are eligible for the discount.
Garden State Parkway Trailer Discount (Tag Specific)
- Enrolled NJ E-ZPass customers will receive a discount off the full fare off-peak and peak tolls on the Garden State Parkway only. Discount would apply to class 2 through class 5 vehicles that meet the requirements of a class 1 tag with additional axles (RV’s are eligible).
- Business and commercial accounts are not eligible for this discount.
- Customers must enroll in the plan by calling the NJ E-ZPass Customer Service Center at 888-AUTOTOLL (888-288-6865).
