For 75 years, the New Jersey Turnpike has connected people to the places, people and experiences that define New Jersey.  To celebrate “Milepost 75,” the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) invites New Jersey residents to submit original artwork and photography inspired by the New Jersey Turnpike and the stories, places and moments along the way.  Show us the Turnpike through your eyes: the road you know, the places it takes you, the people you encounter and the moments that make the journey uniquely New Jersey.  Selected works will be featured in a special exhibition at NJTA headquarters and as part of the anniversary celebration.  There is no entry fee and no purchase is required to participate.

  • All 21 service areas on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway have been replaced or rehabilitated since 2014. Click on “Service Areas” under the Travel Tools tab for a list of service area locations and information on the services each provides.

  • The New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway utilize “Variable Speed Limit Signs” to adjust speed limits based on road, traffic, and weather conditions, improving safety and traffic flow.

  • If you need mounting strips to move your NJ E-ZPass transponder to a new vehicle, you can request them by logging into your account at ezpassnj.com or by calling the NJ E-ZPass Customer Service Center at 888-AUTO-TOLL (888-288-6865)

  • Wipers on = Lights on:
    Day or night New Jersey law requires you to turn on your headlights whenever you are using your windshield wipers.

  • To report a pothole or maintenance issue please call 833-TPK-4AID (833-875-4243) on the New Jersey Turnpike or 833-GSP-4AID (833-477-4243) on the Garden State Parkway or call 800-213-9410

  • A key to saving money with E-ZPass on the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, and other toll roads, bridges, and tunnels is making sure you keep an active tag properly mounted in your car or truck.

  • Heavy trucks with a registered weight of 10,000 pounds or more are prohibited north of Interchange 105 on the Garden State Parkway.

  • The New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway are two of the busiest toll roads in North America.  Last year,  747 million vehicles traveled a total of 12.8 billion miles on the two roadways. That’s the equivalent of 513, 321 trips around the earth.
